You’re listening to Living Rheum on ReachMD. On this episode, Dr. Louis Bessette will discuss key themes and sessions featured at the 2026 Congress of Clinical Rheumatology East conference. Dr. Bessette is a Professor of Medicine at Université Laval and the Director of the Centre for Osteoporosis and Rheumatology of Québec. Let’s hear from him now.
Dr. Bessette:
CCR East has a very exciting lineup that really reflects where rheumatology is headed. There is a strong focus on early arthritis care pathways and real-world data, which are directly tied to improving how we diagnose and treat patients in everyday practice.
I am also looking forward to presentations on novel imaging techniques, new biomarkers, and digital health tools, including ways to bring patient-reported outcomes into routine care through virtual models. I think these innovations have real potential to make care more precise and patient centered.
Finally, discussions around personalized medicine and clinical trials can help bridge the gap between controlled research and real-world research. That will help clinicians apply evidence in a way that fits real patient lives.
I think together, these things put us toward a future of rheumatology that’s more proactive, equitable, and tailored to individual needs.
